Meet Our Founder

Mr. Emmanuel Opoku-Ameyaw

(Founder and Executive Director)

One person is always armed with the vision and through a committed collaboration, the vision is made clear, vivid, and broad to spark a meaningful change. Emmanuel Opoku-Ameyaw is my name and I am from Techiman, in the Bono East of Ghana, West Africa. I had my basic and senior high school education in the Bono East and Bono Region of Ghana respectively. My undergraduate took place in the Ashanti Region of Ghana at the University of Education, Winneba from 2015 to 2019. I have worked for several cooperative organizations in Ghana and the United Arab Emirates. Currently, I am a Health Informatics graduate student at the University of Denver, Colorado in the United States of America.

My dream of bringing Joined-Hands Initiative Foundation (JHIF) into reality all began as a vision I foresaw. As a deeply empathetic person and someone driven by a sense of social responsibility, originating from my personality as a critical thinker and problem solver, I envisioned addressing some of the pressing needs of the world and beginning with myself, my community, and my country. Various issues in education, healthcare, and community development in underprivileged areas in Ghana and Africa, have been my heartbeat and I have always sought ways to help bring a lasting solution to address them. This solution I sort for, became the seed for JHIF, a foundation dedicated to empowering individuals and communities with the necessary resources and opportunities through initiatives to address vital issues of society.

As Executive Director, I have had the privilege to lead effectively as an example and work collaboratively as a team, acknowledging the distinct abilities of my management team to promote projects that change lives according to the vision of JHIF. Combining my function in JHIF and academics has been very challenging but as I see the vision to be bigger than myself, it keeps me awake at night and provides me with the energy, courage, and strength needed to take the next step to reach my desired destination.

I choose to remain committed to the vision and keep focus on it, joining hands with all who hear about JHIF to connect, share insights, and explore potential collaborations to keep this vision alive. Thank you.
